ASQ is seeking a ASQ Global CEO to provide facilitative leadership, working with the Board of ASQ Global, the Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer of ASQ and other senior staff leaders of ASQ, in the development and success implementation of strategic and operating plans for ASQ Global.

The essence of this role is the leadership of ASQ Global to grow ASQ’s presence throughout the world, excluding the US and Canada. With success being defined by membership growth, and sustainable economic growth.  This role was created in 2008; therefore, this position will be responsible for new global business within the development plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete the alignment of ASQ governance, structure (shared services platform) and resource allocation to support global engagement.
  • Retain and develop the ASQ WorldPartner Program, and transition the commercial arrangements with select ASQ World Partners from ASQ to ASQ Global.
  • Establish the ASQ Global Principal Office (Milwaukee) and National Sercice Centers in China, India, and Mexico to ensure that each become an economically sustainable effort.
  • Initiate and develop ASQ Global’s engagement with the international market and ASQ membership.
  • Grow ASQ’s membership and business volume in the rest of the world which may lead to the establishment of future Global business offices .
  • OTHER: Travel 30%.

    SKILLS
  • The essential skill set is that of a chief executive officer. The candidate must possess and demonstrate an understanding of quality concepts, techniques, and tools, continuous learning and improvement, teamwork, and partnering skills. He or she will be self-directed, highly motivated, and customer focused. Excellent written, verbal communications skills are required and will have been demonstrated within an international, multi-layered and complex organization. This individual must be comfortable with, and adaptable to, environments that have some level of ambiguity and can focus on the strengths of complex and diverse cultures. Individuals with natural leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate groups and individuals, both internally and externally, paid and volunteer are particularly desirable. He or she will also possess strategic business acumen, associated business planning, sales, budgeting, and finance management as a part of a successful record of achievement. Entrepreneurial skills and instincts will need to join into an organization of some complexity to achieve balance and desired results. ASQ has an engaged member leader board; the successful candidate will be able to deliver success in an environment that encourages member leader involvement.

    REQUIREMENTS
    At a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Marketing or a related field from a four-year college or university is required; a graduate degree is preferred.

    The ideal candidate is a seasoned business development executive with demonstrated success in foreign markets and a successful relationship management record at the international level. The candidate’s record of success should also include substantial experience in market segmentation and market research. He or she must have the ability to interpret market data and develop relevant strategic initiatives that enhance ASQ Global’s capacity to be responsive and successful in international markets. He or she will have had experience in policy formation and can be an effective leader in working within the ASQ Global governing structure. The successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment, superior decision-making skills and a management style that is open and invites strong partnering relationships. The candidate must also have a record of foreign diplomacy as part of their international business development record. Successful experience in working with governments at the Ministerial level and with business executives of international firms is highly desirable. The successful candidate will also have a proven record of contract negotiation and management at the international level. The ideal candidate will have at least ten (10) years of executive management experience in business development at the international level.
