Position/Internship Description

Overview
Excellent opportunity for in-service training and licensing requirements. Join one of Milwaukee’s most dynamic and innovative social service agencies. Servant Manor (SM) is currently seeking counseling, therapy and social work interns to join our DRIVE - residential programs. SM residential programs currently provide out-of-home care for youth ages 12-17, multi-cultural, low income, and at-risk or abuse victims. Various interns will provide support in the administration of evidence based behavioral treatment plans as well as supplemental academic programming.



Job Description
Interns participate in all aspects of treatment as relates to our three programs and planned program expansions. Under the supervision of Management, interns assist Youth Development Specialists, and the Case Manager in coordinating daily youth activities, appointments, individual, group and family counseling sessions.



Responsibilities
• Assist youth make a positive transition from residential treatment to their family.
• Review treatment plans with staff and youth and ensure youth adhere to goals.
• Observe, assess, and document (daily logs, incident reports, etc) each youth’s behavior and progress including their whereabouts and the time the resident left and returned to the facility
• Maintain client confidentiality within all written and verbal communications
• Exhibit positive behavior and support for youth
• Adhere to Servant Manor polices and procedures at all times
• Attend staff meetings when possible
• Demonstrate punctuality and professionalism in all endeavors



Necessary Skills
• Valid Wisconsin Drivers license
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment
• Ability to prioritize, self-start, and follow-up on important tasks
• Experienced in using Microsoft Office
• Think and react quickly and calmly in an intense situation
• Perform other duties as requested by your supervisor



Compensation
Servant Manor provides a competitive rates of pay for and benefits for full-time employees. Full-time benefits include agency paid medical care, life insurance, 403(b) plan, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation time and flexible off time. Interns do not receive pay. Employment opportunities are available to highly motivated individuals.



Working Conditions
• Indoor/outdoor requirements; participation in both indoor and outdoor recreational activities
• Potential for physical intervention of youth as needed
• Potential for exposure to blood products as a result of youth/staff accident/injury
• Potential to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Local travel as required fulfilling essential functions of the position
