SR. TESTING ENGINEER
JOB OVERVIEW:
A position in new product development engineering group that will test innovative, leading edge technology created for the development of new product lines. The Test Engineer works with many engineering disciplines, therefore excellent interpersonal skills with an in-depth technical instrumentation and testing expertise are required.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Provide leadership, technical instrumentation and test expertise, consulting, and project planning, both as an individual contributor and in a team effort, for Company surface segment equipment and products in order to validate designs by way of:
· Developing test plans, including estimating timelines & costs, and defining resources Performing the actual testing
· Contracting with outside firms to supplement Company capabilities.
· Interface to both internal and external development teams related to testing.
· Actively participate in the development and maintenance of documentation, and validation requirements that include: Specifications, Test plans and test procedures, Testing equipment, Test reports (including summaries for review and analysis by engineering and other product groups).
· Provide communication to other parts of the organization to assure product validation requirements are adequately implemented and completed.
· Participate in all phases of product development: definition, simulation, implementation, and field test on customer sites.
· Support the development of training materials for use with validation efforts
· Work in an environment where diversity of people, thoughts, opinions, and ideas are valued and encouraged
· Conform to safety and inspection requirements.
· Perform testing operations with great care and judgment for the safety of others.
· Keep facilities, materials and work area clean and orderly, exercising care in their use and assisting in their maintenance as required.
· Direct and mentor a team of test engineers while interfacing with department engineers as well.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
· Graduate of an accredited engineering school or job knowledge gained through experience.
· Minimum 5 years of hands-on product testing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
· Knowledge and understanding for the selection and application of equipment such as sensors, strain gauges and test instrumentation.
· Experience with mobile off-road equipment is preferred.
· High level of self-motivation and drive to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and fluid environment of new product development.
· Proven critical thinking and diagnostic abilities with the capability to work across functional boundaries to solve problems
· Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work independently as well as within teams.
· The ability to multi-task and adjust priorities effectively.
· Previous leadership in a testing environment is strongly preferred.
· Ability to travel - Up to 20% travel time may be required, in the U.S. and abroad.
